Beer Steamed Clams

Ingredients

  • 24 clams 
  • ½ bottle of beer
  • 6-8 slices of fresh ginger
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 ½ tbls butter (unsalted)

Steps

Put live clams in sauce pan with beer, ginger, and onions

Cover and bring to a boil. Cook for 3-5 minutes.

When most or all the clams are open they are ready to serve.

The clams will start out shut, when they are cooked if they are good clams they will be open like pacman. If after 3-5 minutes there are some that are not open, cook for another 3 minutes. If they are still shut after 8-10 minutes, discard them.
